And among all the bangs and bruises, the skirts and the scrapes, we've found some pretty cool ink! We've asked the ladies of the Ohio Roller Girls to show us some of their tattoos and tell us about themselves. How many teams are a part of the Ohio Roller Girls?
The Ohio Roller Girls is based in Columbus, Ohio and consists of four teams - the Band of Brawlers, Blackeye Bullies, Take-Outs and Sprockettes.
When/how long does the season run? Do you have a link to an online calendar of events?
The third season of the Ohio Roller Girls is winding down. The season columinates with the Envy Cup Championships July 6. The Take-Outs are looking for a three-peat against the Blackeye Bullies while the Band of Brawlers and the Sprockettes square off in the rubber match.
But roller derby won't be taking a break just yet. The Ohio Roller Girls All Stars began its season of play June 22 in Philadelphia when they took on the Grand Raggidy Roller Girls (Grand Rapids, MI) and the Burning River Roller Girls (Cleveland, OH) at the East Coast Derby Extravaganza. The All Stars split its games in the City of "Sisterly Shove" defeating Burning River but coming up short against Grand Raggidy. They will take on the Boston Derby Dames next July 19 in Boston.

How do girls go about getting involved in the Ohio Roller Girls?
There is a try-out process that prospective skaters go through that involves a skills test, among other things. Girls interesting in trying out for the Ohio Roller Girls should begin logging as much skate time as possible to improve on their skating skills. Try outs will be held on July 22-23, 2008. Volunteering is another great way to become a part of the Ohio Roller Girls. The league is always looking for committed volunteers who will make the Ohio Roller Girls even better.
